Help on Optimizing Web Site?

Can anybody who has a website of their own tell me the absolute best things to do to get hits on the site? My girlfriend and I have a dog boutique http://foxyandfriends.com and we have worked hard to get the best prices available on the web for the products we offer. Now, I just need to find a way to get it out there to the public on a m scale without it costing an arm and a leg. Can anyone tell me the things that you've done that have gotten the best results? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks
